Development Plan
Since the Parish Master Plan was published in April, 2008, the Development Committee has been actively engaged in implementing the vision defined in the Plan. Results to date are summarized below, culminating in the launch of our Capital Campaign.
Real Estate
The new Our Lady of Peace will be built on the ~5 acre "Smith Ranch" parcel on Rt 9 in Silverthorne, just south of Willowbrook. Click on Smith Ranch parcel image for property location detail.
Facility Design
Working with the firm of Eidos Architects, our Development Committee has created a master design plan for the new Our Lady of Peace facility, to be built on our new property in Silverthorne. We have also developed plans to renovate the community and balcony areas of St Mary's, providing better accommodation for overflow seating and social functions. Click here for schematic designs.
Our New Our Lady of Peace Facility will:
Address the needs of our parish as determined by our Parish Survey, including the a new church located in a prominent, easily accessible location with larger seating capacity to serve the needs of current and future Catholics in North Summit County.
Provide multipurpose spaces for adult and youth religious education, social gatherings, sacramental needs and requirements, and overflow seating for our visitors.
Our Interior Renovation of St Mary will:
Create much needed social space and Mass overflow seating in the "link" space between the churches
Greatly improve ventilation, sound, and lines of sight from the balcony to the altar.
Relocate the restrooms, sacristy, and storage areas to more efficiently utilize the limited amount of space on this historic Town of Breckenridge site.
