Meet the Staff
Pastor: Father Stephen Siebert
Fr. Stephen was born in Oak Park, Illinois and is the fifth of seven children. After wandering in his early adolescence, his father, having a conversion of his own, shared the good news with him. Shortly after, he heard a call to the priesthood. He entered the seminary in 1984 and later in 1987, joined the Missionaries of Charity Fathers in Tijuana, Mexico. He went on to receive a bachelor degree in sacred theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome. He then returned to Tijuana where he was ordained to the priesthood on July 2, 1994. After 11 years with the Missionaries of Charity Fathers, he decided to return to diocesan parish life and was received into the Archdiocese of Denver. Since then he has served as parochial vicar in Edwards, and St. John the Baptist in Longmont before becoming pastor of Holy Name in Denver. He spent the last 10 years as pastor of Our Lady of Peace in Greeley.

Parochial Vicar: Fr. Emmanuel Osigwe
Fr. Emmanuel was born and grew up in Port Harcourt in Nigeria. He is the fourth child in the family of seven children. After elementary school, he proceeded to Sacred Heart Seminary Port Harcourt (High School). In 1995, he entered Saint Joseph Major Seminary in Nigeria , and graduated in 1999 with summa cum laude in philosophy. His first assignment was to his alma mater – Sacred Heart Seminary to teach Latin and Religious Studies. He was ordained a priest on September 25, 2004. He worked in several parishes in his home diocese of Port Harcourt, and obtained a masters degree in philosophy. His next assignment was to the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, where he served for three years. In 2011, Fr. Emmanuel was sent to Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, where e graduated with a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology. Fr. Emmanuel has since served in two parishes in Pittsburgh as well as Fort Collins, and the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Denver. Fr. Emmanuel is a joyful person and appreciates the gift of the priesthood. He credits his faith to his Catholic upbringing, and parents who introduced him to Marian devotion and the scriptures early in life.

Deacon: Chuck Lamar
Deacon Chuck Lamar was ordained in 1980 in the Diocese of Wilmington Delaware. He and his wife Carolyn have been married since 1970 and have raised 5 children. The Lamar's had been second home owners in Summit County since 1989. After a successful business career that took him to Chicago and Denver, he "retired" to become a full time resident in Summit County in 2002. Chuck's ministries have included hospital chaplain, pro-life boards, marriage preparation and family ministry, and religious education.

Deacon: James Doyle
Deacon Jim Doyle grew up in Denver, Colorado as the oldest of eleven. He attended Catholic elementary school at Mt. Carmel, St. Patrick, and St. Catherine’s. Later he attended Regis High School and Regis University. Jim spent one year in the Jesuit Novitiate in Missouri. Jim and his wife Karen have been married since 1971 and have raised 4 children in the Denver area, where they were parishioners at St. Vincent de Paul. The Doyle’s have 7 grandchildren. Jim started a home in Summit County in 1965, was delayed by a Vietnam Conflict, but finished his home in Dillon in 1968. Jim was ordained a deacon on June 4, 2005 in Denver. Jim and his son Kevin still have a successful business in mortgage lending. Jim’s deaconal ministries have included baptism preparation, marriage preparation and family ministry, spiritual direction, and religious education.

Deacon: Dan Cook
Dan grew up on a farm in Illinois and later in Missouri. He married Denise in 1980 while attending the University of Missouri. They moved to Colorado in 1985 where they started an accounting and financial planning practice in Castle Rock. Dan and Denise have four children and have been part-time Summit County residents since 2000. They recently moved up here full-time and continue to manage their business from home. Dan received his calling to the diaconate while working for their parish in Castle Rock, but knew he wanted to serve the people of Summit County. He received his formation at St. John Vianney Theological Seminary and was ordained in 2019.

Director of Religious Education & Youth Ministry: Karl Horwath
Karl was born and raised in rural Wisconsin. Attending a retreat in high school ignited his faith and lead him to study Catechetics and Theology at Franciscan University. While there he met Kaitlyn, a beautiful, smart woman from Littleton, Colorado. They got married on June 23, 2012 at Kaitlyn’s home parish. They have three children, Kolbe, Zelie and Felix. In their free time they love to take walks, watch birds, play with trucks and shovel snow. Karl also loves hiking, backpacking, playing any sport possible and watching his beloved Minnesota Gophers and favorite soccer team, Arsenal. He is looking forward to learning how to ski and being able to look at the mountains everyday. Karl and his family feel truly blessed to have been called to serve here and to be part of this community.

Youth Ministry Assistant: Amy Flanagan
Amy is a native of California but moved to Breckenridge when she was 17. She lived with her sister and niece while attending college at Colorado Mountain College. She moved to Steamboat Springs in 2010 and finished her degree in Art and Early Childhood Education while working at Holy Name Catholic preschool. While in Steamboat Springs Amy and her husband Dennis managed a ranch in Strawberry Park and enjoyed the community at Holy Name Catholic Church. Dennis became Catholic during their time in Steamboat Springs. They moved back to Summit County in 2012 to be closer to Dennis’s family who live in Denver. Amy and Dennis have two children, Timothy and Annie. Amy has been a full time mom since having children and she has volunteered for the religious education programs for several years. The Flanagans enjoy hiking, biking, camping and skiing. Amy has become passionate for learning more about the Catholic faith and is excited to work with the youth in our parish as they grow in faith. Amy is very excited to serve the families of Saint Mary’s and Our Lady of Peace!
Business Manager: Carol Mendlik
Carol was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. She attended Marian High School and received her B. S. in Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She has an MBAfrom Regis University. Carol retired to Silverthorne in 2014 after 10 years as the Chief Financial Officer at Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colorado. She was also in public accounting for many years as an auditor and tax preparer, specializing in not for profit organizations. Carol and her husband Dan raised two children who live with their spouses and 3 grandchildren in the Denver Metro area.

Parish Secretary: Eraine Oakley
Eraine was born in St. Albans, VT, the third of four girls. After living in Vermont and Massachusetts, the family moved to North Carolina where Eraine met her husband, Larry. They have two daughters, Kristen and Darby. The Oakleys were introduced to Summit County by Eraine's sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Gary Nicholds. They promptly fell in love with the area and set a goal to end up here. Miraculously, all four family members moved here in the summer of 2014. Eraine enjoys hiking, skiing but most of all acting. She has had the honor of appearing in many theatrical productions and hopes to be able to continue to do so. Her past experience includes being a school secretary/bookkeeper, arts council director, teacher assistant, purchasing agent, to name a few.

Director of Music: Nancy Wiedel
Nancy was born in McCook, Nebraska and is a graduate in music from the University of Omaha (now University of Nebraska at Omaha). She has 3 daughters, 1 son, and 8 grandchildren. She has had a home in Summit County since 1971 and has been a full time resident since 1990. Her main interests are in music, water therapy, and skiing. She enjoys working part time at the Silverthorne Rec Center, for the United States Ski and Snowboard Association Clubs, and of course Our Lady of Peace.
