What is Adoration?

Adoration is a continuation in time of the moment of elevation at Mass, when the priest shows the consecrated host to the people, who pause momentarily in adoration.  By adoring the Eucharist we are reminded in a very tangible way of God's love for humanity and his promise to mankind:  "Behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age" Mt 28:20.  

There is no fixed way to spend the hour.  You can sit quietly, do spiritual reading (there is a wall of books to choose from!), journal, gaze, listen to a Catholic podcast, or say a Rosary.  Think about this time as spending time with a good friend.  How can your relationship be strengthened if you don't spend time together in the same room, both listening and talking?
